2018 Travel Log
This page is our travel log for the year 2018. This way our family and friends can see where we visited and stayed at throughout the year as well as future confirmed reservations on where we will be staying or are planning to be staying at. We will update this page as we travel or should our travel plans change. The oldest entry is at the top of the page and the most recent entry is at the bottom of the page. We started traveling fulltime on June 22, 2011; we started living fulltime in our RV in May 2010 while we were preparing our home for sale and selling off most of our possessions. This is our 7th year of fulltime traveling and our 8th year of living fulltime in our motor coach.
Here is a link to Our Visited Places; this is our page listing all of the places that we have been to together "as a couple" since 1996.
Date(s) | Location | Event/Resort and Travel Notes |
12/24/17 - 04/01/18 | East Stroudsburg, PA |
Camped at
Timothy Lake South RV (Thousand Trails) (Site 14) in East
Stroudsburg, PA for 98
nights in a 50 Amp FHU. To stay the entire winter at this resort, we are
utilizing two 28 night stays & one 21 night stay for free, one of our 2017 extra weeks
for $29.00, as well as two of our
RPI Encore weeks for $133.00 each (allowing RPI as your out weeks is at
the discretion of each campground, and off-season stays are normally
always approved). This camping
preserve is located in the Poconos Mountains, and a short drive to Lake
Timothy, the Delaware River, & the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. This is a very
nice Thousand Trails preserve with 312 campsites. We are Ultimate
Odyssey members of Thousand Trails; a private
campground membership. Our yearly maintenance fee of $618.22 allows us
unlimited camping with no nightly camping fees at 108 different Thousand
Trails/NACO/Leisure Time/Mid-Atlantic/Outdoor World/Encore nationwide
campgrounds. This is a highly recommended Thousand Trails
Campground! Note 1: On 04/01/18, we filled up the RV diesel fuel tank that was at 1/4th of tank. We purchased 114.598 gallons of diesel fuel at $3.569 per gallon for a total cost of $409.00. |
04/01/18 - 04/03/18 | Burnt Cabins, PA | Camped at Ye Olde Mill Campground (Passport America) (Site 22B) for 2 nights in a 50 Amp FHU site. This campground has twelve 100' pull-thru sites & ten back in creekside sites for a total of 22 sites. The regular rate for the campground is $35.00 nightly, but we paid the PA Discount Rate of $17.50 nightly plus $3.00 daily 50 Amp electric for a total cost of $41.00 (cash only). This is a recommended Public Campground that allows Passport America discounts. |
04/03/18 - 04/05/18 | Charleroi, PA |
Camped at
Campground 70 (Public Campground) (Site A6) for 2 nights in a 50 Amp FHU site. This campground has
thirty-five 30 Amp electric & water sites with a public dump site. It is
located just off of I-70 on the north side of the interstate for easy off
& on. The nightly costs was $27.50 per night for a total cost of
$55.00 (cash only). This is a recommended Public Campground. Note 1: The I76 PA Turnpike cost us a $66.00 (cash only) toll for the short 150 mile distance we drove which is $2.27 per mile. I am ready to go back west again, where there is no such thing as toll roads. This is fracking BS paying all these crazy ass tolls out east. Note 2: This is a an area of the country settled by many French speaking Belgium immigrants. My great grandfather Peter Charlier & his wife my great grandmother Eugenie Madenic Charlier Russo from my father's side of the family were some of those immigrants that came to America from Brussels, Belgium, and settled down in McDonald, Pennsylvania. Their daughter, my dad's mom & my grandmother was Marie Charlier Potts. Her parents came to America speaking French, so she learned to speak French as her first language & English as her second language which she spoke her entire adult life, but reverted back to French at the very end, just before her death. She was married to my grandfather Andrew Potts on 04/10/1914 in Wheeling, WV which is located about 50 miles from Charleroi, PA. |
04/05/18 - 04/12/18 | Salt Fork State Park, OH |
Camped at
Salt Fork State Park
(Site G19) for 7 nights in a 50 Amp electric only
with a public showers, water fill site & dump site. This State Park
consists of 17,229 acres of land & 2,952 acres of water which includes a huge lake, numerous streams & rivers,
and massive amounts of rolling hills with forests. The cost of this
campground was $28.00 nightly plus an $8.00 booking fee; I did receive a
$19.80 military discount for a total cost of $186.20. This is a highly
recommended State Park Campground. Note: Don's FaceBook friends George Workman, his wife Bec Stephens Workman, & Cory Pontinen visited for 3 days/2 nights from Sunday, 04/08/18 until Tuesday, 04/10/18. They set-up a tent on our campsite as a base camp, and rented a cabin for sleeping. Salt Fork State Park is a hotbed for Sasquatch sightings & encounters, so I (Don) went on several day & night hikes with all of them. During the day we brought along cameras, but at night we used long range infrared, short range infrared, and long range audio amplification device. We did find stick structures, but no footprints or visual sightings on our two days out there. On Monday at lunch time & Tuesday at breakfast time, all of us, including Debbie, went out to Winterset Kitchen (a local Amish family restaurant) in Lore City, OH. During their time at our campsite, we did campfires, did lots of chatting, and even watched the Finding Bigfoot Season 2 Episode that was filmed here. Both Debbie & George took photos on this trip: Deb's Photo Album & George's Photo Album. |
04/12/18 - 04/19/18 | Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH |
Camped at
Wright-Patterson AFB Bass Lake FamCamp (Military Campground/US Air
Force) (Site 27) at the Wright-Patterson AFB,
Ohio for 7 nights in 50 amp
FHU site. This campground is located next to the Bass Lake Military
Recreation Area. The cost of this campground is
$25.00 nightly or a discounted price of $125.00 weekly, which is what we
got. Highly recommended Military Campground for active/retired military! Note 1: On a historical note, this was the U.S. Army Wright Air Field (Hangar 18) (now a U.S. Air Force Base) where they shipped the ETs (both living & dead) as well as the saucer craft wreckage from the Roswell, New Mexico UFO Crash in 1947. In fact, there were several UFO crashes throughout the 40's through the 70's that were sent to Wright-Patterson according to numerous military & civilians working for the military at the Air Field. There is even a Deep Underground Military Base (DUMB) that goes numerous levels underground; in fact, there were even 6 levels underground in the 1940's, but it was dug much, much deeper during the decades after the Roswell crash. Lieutenant Coronel Phillip J. Corso, Lieutenant Robert Skirkey, Sergeant Robert Smith, and Civilian June Crane are just some of the many whistleblowers that have went on the record by signing affidavits, doing interviews, & writing books on this subject. Note 2: On 04/19/18, we filled up the RV diesel fuel tank that was at 3/4th of tank. We purchased 48.047 gallons of diesel fuel at $3.109 per gallon for a total cost of $149.38. |
04/19/18 - 04/26/18 | Indianapolis, IN | Camped at
Indiana State Fairgrounds (State Fairgrounds Campground) (Site 9) for 7
nights in Indianapolis, IN in a 50 amp FHU site. The cost is $30.00 nightly for a
weekly total cost of $210.00. This is a highly recommended State
Fairgrounds Campground. Note 1: On Sat., 04/21/18 we had a visit from our friends Ray Fowler & Lin Fowler. We enjoyed a long, chat & went out for a take-out BBQ dinner. On Sun., 04/22/18 we had a visit from Deb's cousin Von Cantrell, his wife Karen Cantrell, and their daughter Brooklyn Cantrell. Debbie cooked up some slow cooker lasagna, we chatted for several hours, and watched a movie together. Both visits from the Fowler's & the Cantrell's was very nice indeed. |
04/26/18 - 05/17/18 | Elkhart, IN |
Camped at
Duncan RV Repair Center
(Repair Center Campground) for
21 nights in
Elkhart, IN (the RV Capital of the World). Our RV Repairs were split
into two stays with the total stay being for 29 nights. The
camping fee is free for customers getting RV repairs. The site has 50
amp with water and there is a dump site located in the back of the property. The
20 site campground is very clean and well manicured with 10 sites on
rock and 10 sites on rock/grass. It does include internet
which actually worked at a very fast speed. This is a recommended
campground for anyone getting repairs at the Duncan RV Repair Center. Note 1: From Sun., 05/06/18 - Sun., 05/13/18 we stayed for 7 nights at Diamond Resorts - Varsity Clubs of America - South Bend timeshare in Mishawaka, IN in a 1 BR, 1 BA unit with a Limited Kitchen. This is an Interval International (II) Silver Select Resort. We got this unit on a trade for a WorldMark Studio unit and a $199.00 II exchange fee. It had a heated, indoor pool/jacuzzi, work out room, BBQ grills, library, billiards room, sports bar, conference room, and was located only 10.5 miles from the Duncan RV Repair Center. |
05/17/18 - 05/21/18 | Elkhart, IN | Attended the RVillage Rally One The Connected Road. We stayed at & the Rally was held at the Elkhart Campground (Site 902). The cost for this 4 day rally was $305.91, and we chose an RV site that included 30 Amp Electric & Water only RV parking, but the cost also included coffee & donuts each morning, seminars throughout the day, one pot luck dinner, & live entertainment 2 of the 4 nights. |
05/21/18 - 05/29/18 | Elkhart, IN |
Camped at
Duncan RV
Repair Center
(Repair Center Campground) for 08 nights in
Elkhart, IN (the RV Capital of the World). Our RV Repairs were split
into two stays with the total stay being for 29 nights. The camping fee
is free for customers getting RV repairs. The site has 50 amp with water
and there is a dump site located in the back of the property. The 20
site campground is very clean and well manicured with 10 sites on rock
and 10 sites on rock/grass. It does include internet which actually
worked at a very fast speed. This is a recommended campground for anyone
getting repairs at the Duncan RV Repair Center. Note 1: Starting on Monday, 05/21/18, we went to the Spartan Service Center - Cummins Onan in Elkhart, IN. We spent the day, camped overnight for one night, and then spent half the day on Tuesday getting a Spartan Chassis Steering Bracket Recall Replacement completed. This Spartan Service Center has a 6 space 30 Amp only RV park with concrete pads, picnic tables, grass & shade trees which is free for their customers that are getting service & repairs. This recall repair was free, and so was the night of camping. Note 2: Our total repair bill at Duncan RV came up to $3,500.00. The Good Sam Extended Warranty service paid $1,765.10 and we paid $1,734.92. Our portion included a $250.00 deductible, all inspection costs, and 15.0 gallons of LP at $3.20 per gallon for a total L.P. cost of $56.70 tax included. We also got 29 nights of Free camping which was worth about $20.00 per night or $580.00. Looking at what we paid for our deductible, inspection, parts, labor, & L.P., as well as what we didn't pay for the month long stay, we are able to live with it. Note 3: In route to our next campground, we stopped at Bauer Built in Romeoville, IL to replace our 2 steer axle tires. During the tire inspection of the other 6 tires on the dualies & tag axle there was deep sidewall cracking found on all of them where Michelin stamped the lettering on their sidewalls, so we ended up getting all 8 new tires. We purchased our motorcoach in 2009 (when it was 5 years old) & it had Goodyear tires, we replaced them (due to sidewall cracking) with Michelins in 2012 which lasted 6 years before they too got sidewall cracking, so this time around we opted for the Continental Commercial Bus & RV Tires to see if they are any better against issues with sidewall cracking. We utilized the FMCA Continental Choice Program. The Continental Coach HA3 tires normally sell for $866.59 each (which includes Federal Excise Tax - F.E.T.), but using the tire program we got our Continental 315/80R22.5 tires for $544.23 each ($491.40 tire & $52.83 F.E.T.) which was a $322.36 per tire savings. We paid Bauer Built $392.00 ($280.00 labor, $72.00 valve stems, & $20.00 for front tire balancing). We paid Continental $4,723.92 total ($3,931.20 tires, $422.64 Federal Excise Tax, $370.08 Sales Tax) for the 8 tires. The Grand Total for tires, labor, & taxes came to $5,115.92. We were hoping to make it to Oregon to purchase 6 of our 8 tires with NO SALES TAX, but changed our minds after the tire inspection. |
05/29/18 - 05/30/18 | Sandwich, IL | Camped at Sandwich Fairground (aka Dekalb County Fairgrounds) (Fairgrounds Campground) (Site 11) for 01 night in Sandwich, IL. This was a 50 Amp Electric & Water site. The parking was on level hard pack sod. This was a very quiet campground with many sites, and there were only 4 other RVs there. The campground had a Free dumpsite which we utilized on our way out. The cost was $15.00 for the one night stay. This is a highly recommended County Fairgrounds Campground. |
05/30/18 - 06/08/18 | Galena, IL |
Stayed at
WorldMark Galena
(Room 1201) for
09 nights in one of our timeshares; we stayed in a
1 BR, 1 BA suite with a Full Kitchen. This resort is located in Galena, IL just off the US 20, and
between Lake Galena & the Tapley Woods Conservation Area. We
love WorldMark and we love staying in timeshares!!! Note 1: On 05/30/18, while in route to this timeshare, we filled up the RV diesel fuel tank that was at about a 1/2 of a tank. We purchased 70.334 gallons of diesel fuel at $3.199 per gallon for a total cost of $225.00. Note 2: On 06/01/18, Deb's 54th Birthday, we went out to a nice lunch at Procento's Pizzeria in old, historic downtown Galena, IL which is located on the banks of the Wisconsin River. We both had a different Italian dish for lunch, and then purchased a "famous" Procento's Special Double Decker pizza to go, which we had for a picnic dinner that afternoon/evening & again for lunch the next day. It is a very big, thick, delicious pizza. After lunch, we then made a 1.5 hour drive northwest to Yellow River State Forest, IA. It is a 8,900 acre forest surrounded by additional timberland that extends for 130,000 acres in total. The area is located west of the Mississippi River, just inside IA next to the WI border, & dissected by the the Yellow River & numerous flowing streams. We drove a majority of the roads in the park, visited Big Paint Campground, Little Paint Campground (which is actually two campgrounds), Creekside Equestrian Campground, Frontier Equestrian Campground, went up to Larkin & Paint Creek Overlooks, had a picnic lunch, and Deb took lots of photos & videos of the forest. This State Forest is one of the most beautiful places we have visited during our 8 years of RV full-timing, and it is in the state of Iowa, which is mostly thought of as the farming belt. I am a Sasquatch/Bigfoot researcher, and this State Forest was featured on the TV Series FINDING BIGFOOT because of the numerous reported Bigfoot sightings throughout this huge State Forest. I have to admit, it is one of the most Squatchy Places on Earth. Note 3: During our stay here, we were able to park our RV for free at this resort. |
06/08/18 - 06/13/18 | Dubuque, IA | Camped at
Miller Riverview Park & Campground (City Public Campground)
(Site 27A) for 5 nights in Dubuque, IA which is a 110 foot long,
pull-through site, with an unobstructed view of the Mississippi River
out our front windshield. This campground is located on Hamm Island in
the middle of the Mississippi River on the IA/IL/WI border. It shares
the island with the Q Casino, and is 1.5 miles from the Diamond Jo
Casino Dubuque. This campground is 20 acres in size & has Ninety-Seven
50/30 Amp electric only
sites with a free public water fill site & dump site. The cost is
$18.00 nightly for a total cost of $90.00. This is a highly recommended
City Public Campground.
Note: This campground was closed starting on 04/29/18 (after we had made our reservations & prepayment on 03/05/18) due to the Mississippi River flooding out of its banks, but the campground was repaired, cleaned up, & reopened starting on Friday, 06/13/18, which was the first day of our reservation. |
06/13/18 - 06/15/18 | Palisades-Kepler State Park, IA | Camped at Palisades-Kepler Campground (State Park Campground) (Site 006) located inside the Palisades-Kepler State Park, near Mount Vernon, IA, for 2 nights in a 50 Amp electric only site with public showers, water fill site & dump site. This State Park is 12 miles away from Cedar Rapids, it consists of 840 acres, dramatic river bluffs, deep ravines, majestic hardwood trees, a large variety of wild flowers, and the campground is on the shores of the Cedar River. The cost of this campground was $16.00 nightly plus a $4.00 booking fee so the total cost was $36.00 for two nights. Thank you Iowa for keeping State Park Campgrounds very reasonably priced, we wish that other states would follow your example. |
06/15/18 - 06/17/18 | Springbrook State Park, IA |
Camped at
Springbrook Campground (State Park Campground)
(Site 001) located inside the Springbrook State Park, near Guthrie
Center, IA, for 2 nights in a 50 Amp electric only site with public
showers, water fill site & dump site. This State Park consists of 930 acres,
the Springbrook Lake which is 17 acres in size, and the Raccoon River.
The cost of this campground was $16.00 nightly plus a $4.00 booking fee
so the total cost was $36.00 for two nights. Thank you Iowa for keeping
State Park Campgrounds very reasonably priced, we wish that other states
would follow your example. Note 1: On 06/15/18, we filled up the RV diesel fuel tank that was at about 1/2 of a tank. We purchased 77.431 gallons of diesel fuel at $3.149 per gallon for a total cost of $233.83. |
06/17/18 - 06/24/18 | Offutt Air Force Base, NE | Camped at Offutt AFB Base Lake FamCamp (Military Campground/US Air Force) (Site 22) for 7 nights in the Offutt Air Force Base Recreation Area. This is an extremely nice with a huge fishing lake, concrete pads, very nice fire rings & picnic tables, park like lawns, and our rig has a mature shade tree on each side of us, but we still have a clear Southwest satellite TV signal. This resort is located just southeast of Omaha, NE. We got a 50 Amp FHU site for $20.00 per night, so our total cost was $140.00. Highly recommended Military Campground for active/retired military! |
06/24/18 - 06/28/18 | North Platte, NE |
Camped at
I-80
Lakeside Campground (Public Campground) (Site 10) for 4 nights. This
campground is located between a nice private campground lake & the South
Platte River. The campground is a short drive from the I-80, and
downtown North Platte, NE. The camping cost was $25 with 30 Amp electric
& water, and $3.00 extra per day for 50 Amp; but they also give 10%
discounts for Good Sam, AARP, AAA, Senior, & Military, so I had all
those bases covered. Our total 4 night stay with the 50 Amp surcharge,
taxes included, & discount came out to $116.28. This is a highly
recommended Public Campground. Note: On Weds., 06/27/18, we went to the Golden Spike Tower & Visitor Center, Union Pacific Railroad Bailey Yard, and Cody Park which were all in North Platte itself. |
06/28/18 - 07/05/18 | Francis E. Warren Air Force Base, WY |
Camped at
Fort
D.A. Russell Crow Creek FamCamp (Military Campground/US
Air Force) (Site 40) for 7 nights in the Francis E. Warren AFB which is located
next to Cheyenne, WY. We dumped our black & grey water tanks, filled up
with fresh water, then pulled in backwards & ran our electrical cord
under the RV so our sat antenna would clear the shade tree for our site. This military campground is located
in a hardwood forested area next to Crow Creek, while being just a short
drive from the I-80 & I25 interchange. We got a 50 Amp FHU site for $25.00 per
night, so our total cost was $175.00. Highly recommended Military Campground for
active/retired military! Note 1: On Thurs., 06/28/18, we filled up the RV diesel fuel tank that was at about 1/2 of a tank. We purchased 92.274 gallons of diesel fuel at $3.239 per gallon for a total cost of $294.26. |
07/05/18 - 07/06/18 | Rawlins, WY | Camped at
Red Desert Rose
Campground (Public Campground) (Site 72) for 1 night in Rawlins, WY. This
public campground is level gravel with very little grass, and in a windy
mountain valley. We opted for a 50 Amp electric & water only site listed
at $30.50 plus tax and we got a 15% discount (good for military,
Escapees, Good Sam, etc.) for a grand total of $27.99. This
is a good overnight Public Campground with easy on/off I-80 access. Note: On Thurs., 07/05/18, we had the RV oil & filter changed at the Tom Neuman Trucking, Inc. which is a repair facility in Rawlins, WY. I was quoted $200 for a complete lube, oil & filter job for both the RV engine & generator. The mechanic put twice too much oil in the engine & then had to drain all the excess oil back out again, this complete engine & generator job normally takes 1.5 hours & the mechanic had spent 3.5 hours on the engine oil change & engine fuel filter change alone. I then told Tom Neuman to forget about the generator service, your mechanic is both incompetent & way too slow. I was then charged $197.96 for the half ass job, even though I gave him both the oil & fuel filter (which were suppose to be included in the price) because he did not have any filters in stock. I normally go to SpeedCo Service Centers which charge $230.00 for a complete lube, oil, & filter for both the engine & generator, they lube the chassis which includes all grease inserts & axle lube oil, they assure all tires are aired up to whatever pressure you tell them, & the work takes about 1.5 to 2 hours maximum; but there are no SpeedCo Service Centers on our route for the next 6 months, and the service was due. I DO NOT recommend this crappy Truck/RV Repair Business for anyone for any reason & I gave it a miserable online recommendation so "hopefully" others will avoid it. |
07/06/18 - 07/08/18 | East Canyon State Park, UT | Camped at Dixie Creek Campground (State Park Campground) (Site DIXI06) in the East Canyon State Park near Morgan, UT for 2 nights in camp site DIXI06. This UT State Park Campground is located on the north shoreline of the East Canyon Reservoir. We opted for a 50 Amp electric only water view site that cost us $35.00 nightly which is $70.00 plus an $8.00 reservation fee for a grand total of $78.00 for a two night stay in an electric only site. At these inflated prices, no wonder we rarely camp at government public RV parks. This is a typical OVER PRICED State Park Campground. |
07/08/18 - 07/15/18 | Hill Air Force Base, UT | Camped at Hill AFB FamCamp (Military Campground/US Air Force) (Site 34) for 7 nights in the Hill AFB which is located next to Ogden, UT. This military campground is located about 7.5 miles away from the Great Salt Lake. The campground is located next to a nice park, the running/jogging/walking trails, the running/jogging/walking track, and it has a world class gymnasium. We got a 50 Amp FHU site on a nice, concrete pad for $20.00 per night, so our total cost was $140.00. Highly recommended Military Campground for active/retired military! |
07/15/18 - 07/25/18 | Mountain Home Air Force Base, ID |
Camped at
Mountain Home AFB FamCamp (Military Campground/US
Air Force) (Site 13) for 10 nights in the
Mountain Home AFB next to Mountain Home, ID. This
military campground is located
just southwest of I-84 between the
Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area;
Bruneau Dunes State Park; Snake River Birds of Prey Area; and a short
drive from Snake River, C J Strike Reservoir, C J Strike Wildlife
Management Area, & Bruneau Arm. We got a 50 Amp FHU site for $15.00 per
night; stay 6 nights & 7th night is free so our total 10 night stay cost
was $135.00. Highly recommended Military Campground for
active/retired military! Note 1: On Sun., 07/15/18, we filled up the RV diesel fuel tank that was at about 1/2 of a tank. We purchased 105.343 gallons of diesel fuel at $3.569 per gallon for a total cost of $375.97. Note 2: On Weds., 07/18/18, we went to Bldg. 512, which is the location of the DEERS/ID Section, because Debbie's Military Dependent ID was going to expire on 09/11. We walked right in with nobody else in the waiting room, and was walking out with her renewed ID in less than 15 minutes. Her new ID is good for 4 years until July 2022. As a comparison, we tried to get her ID at Hill AFB, UT, and you could show up when they opened at 8:00 AM and still not get seen by the time they closed at the end of the day. |
07/25/18 - 07/30/18 | Gowen Field Idaho Air National Guard Base, ID | Camped at Gowen Field IDANG Base (Military Campground/US Air Force) (Site C) for 5 nights next to Boise, ID. This military campground is located immediately south of Boise, Boise Airport, and I-84. We got a 50 Amp FHU site for $15.00 per night, so our total cost was $75.00. This base is one of the nicest military bases we have ever been to, and all retirees have access to a wonderful, inexpensive, dinning facility that is open for 3 meals per day, 7 days per week. The campground is located next to a top notch running/jogging/walking track, a world class gymnasium that is open 24 hours per day (the RV park users have access to these showers), and well manicured, green, watered lawns throughout. Highly recommended Military Campground for active/retired military! |
07/30/18 - 07/31/18 | Parma, ID |
Camped at
Old Fort Boise RV Park (Public City & County Campground) (Site
6) for 1 night in
Parma, ID. This campground consists of 9 level, gravel sites (8 back-in
& 1 pull-thru), and 4 of these sites can easily accommodate big rigs. The sites are
30 Amp
electric & water only with level rock pads & some shade trees; it
also has a free public dump site for campers or a $5.00 dump fee for
those not staying at the RV Park. It has a public restroom with
no showers. The cost for this campground is
$15.00 nightly. This is a highly
recommended Public City & County Campground. Note 1: On Mon., 07/31/18, we filled up the RV diesel fuel tank that was at about 3/4 of a tank. We purchased 54.00 gallons of diesel fuel at $3.669 per gallon for a total cost of $198.13. |
07/31/18 - 08/03/18 | Burns, OR | Camped at Crystal Crane Hot Springs (Hot Springs Campground) (Site 8) for 3 nights in Burns, OR. This campground consists of 9 various sized campsites. Our site was a level, back-in site that was 70 ft. long & 50 ft. wide with grass on 3 sides of the motorcoach (rather than parked on a hot asphalt parking lot) like most of the sites. Booking it 3 months in advance was the correct thing to do here. The site was 30 Amp FHU. It has a Hot Springs Pond that is never over 101 F that is included with the cost of camping, but is normally $10.00 daily per person. This campground cost $37.00 per night plus $2.01 tax, for a total 3 night cost of $113.01. This is a highly recommended Hot Springs Campground. |
08/03/18 - 09/07/18 | Bend, OR |
Camped at
Bend-Sunriver RV Campground (Thousand Trails) (Site D3) in
Bend, OR for 35 nights in a 50 Amp Electric & Water only site with a
