2013 Travel Log

This page is our travel log for the year 2013. This way our family and friends can see where we visited and stayed at throughout the year as well as future confirmed reservations on where we will be staying or are planning to be staying at. We will update this page as we travel or should our travel plans change. The oldest entry is at the top of the page and the most recent entry is at the bottom of the page. We started traveling fulltime on June 22, 2011; we started living fulltime in our RV in May 2010 while we were preparing our home for sale and selling off most of our possessions. This is our 3rd year of fulltime traveling and our 4th year of living fulltime in our motor coach.

Here is a link to Our Visited Places; this is our page listing all of the places that we have been to together "as a couple" since 1996.

03/04/13 - 03/05/13 Effingham, IL Dry camped for one night at Heartland Peterbilt in Effingham, IL. While traveling from Pocahontas, IL to Nappanee, IN, we had a complete loss of power in our motor coach on I-70 East near Mulberry Grove, IL. We used our Coach-Net RV Roadside Assistance Program to tow us to Heartland Peterbilt in Effingham, IL. We pay $358.50 for a three year policy and the tow driver told me that the tow bill will cost us nothing, but Coach-Net will be paying $500.00. (I am glad I have the Coach-Net 3-Year Premier Coach policy since it more than paid for itself with this one RV tow.) Heartland Peterbilt is a Cummins Service Center and they ended up replacing our alternator and EGR valve. Our Good Sam Extended Warranty covered the alternator replacement which did help on the overall repair cost, but they did not pay for the EGR valve replacement because it is an emission control item that is not covered. After dry camping in their parking lot on Monday night, we had the repairs completed on Tuesday, and then drove all Tuesday night in a snow storm to get to Newmar Corporation on Wednesday morning for our motorcoach repairs during their Winter Service Special.
03/06/13 - 03/15/13 Nappanee, IN
